When you install any type of central air-moving system, whether it be air conditioning or warm-air heating, you then have the option of adding other benefits that may interest you, such as highly efficient air filters, electronic air cleaners, HEPA filtration for the entire home, or UV lights to purify the air you breathe.
Central Air Conditioning involves two parts: One remains outside, while the other remains inside. The outside unit is referred to as the condenser and it’s where the real work gets done. This is the part that is most involved with energy efficiency, because it’s where the heat from inside your home gets dissipated to the outdoor air.
You’ll see a lot about
SEER ratings, or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. A higher SEER unit requires less electrical power to satisfy your home’s demand for cooling. That saves you money. You can refer to our FAQ's to learn more.
Don’t have a way to put in a single central system that can be distributed throughout the home?
No problem at all – you can buy a split system that uses one or more small outside units, each connected to one or more wall-mounted inside “air handlers” (meaning a way to cool the air and then blow it out into the room). Inside, all you see is a relatively small, attractive unit a few inches deep mounted on the wall up high, and operated by a hand-held remote control. They’re truly quiet and do a great job.
